Site Superintendent

Overview

Neuman Group integrates design-phase planning and engineering experience with expert buildphase construction capabilities to provide clients with a turnkey design/build solution for the development of large-scale water entertainment attractions. By combining these normally disconnected phases into a single streamlined package, Neuman Group builds synergy and minimizes the inefficiency associated with the typical design-bid-build process.

WTI (Water Technology, Inc.) is the design team for this partnership and an internationally recognized, family-owned, design and engineering firm specializing in commercial aquatic venues such as waterparks, aquatic centers, and sport swimming pools. We are seeking a proactive, multi-faceted project manager to join our Beaver Dam, Wisconsin team to manage a wide variety of swimming pool projects. The position requires a high level of client-facing interaction and service. The ability to communicate effectively with internal teams of designers and engineers, as well as external sub-consultants, to deliver projects on schedule and within budget while exceeding client expectations is a key aspect of this role. Experience with mechanical or electrical engineering is strongly preferred.

Position Description

Reporting directly to the President, this position will be responsible for the overall construction site management and timely completion of aquatic facilities located throughout the United States. Duties will include but not be limited to:

Scheduling of entire construction process:

  • Work with architects and general contractors to determine a realistic and mutually agreeable construction timeline.
  • Prepare construction timeline with Microsoft Project.
  • Be able to review work completed and accurately compare to published timeline to determine if the timeline is being met.

Coordination of self-perform building crews: (if applicable)

  • Work closely with Construction Operations Manager to schedule self-perform crews to have appropriate number of personnel on site.
  • Direct the self-perform on-site foreman to complete work in the appropriate manner.
  • Conduct on-site inspections to ensure that the work completed is done correctly and according to the blueprints.
  • Arrange for additional labor through temporary employment agencies in the area of the jobsite if necessary.

Coordination of subcontractors:

  • Work closely with home office Project Manager to obtain and review RFI’s and RFP’s to determine the best-qualified subcontractors.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to ensure that the portion of the project awarded to them is completed in a safe, timely and accurate manner.
  • Arrange and document regular on-site project coordination meeting.\

Vendor Relations:

  • Coordinate with home office Project Manager and vendors to ensure the timely arrival of materials on the jobsite.
  • Oversee the physical delivery of materials to ensure accuracy of the shipping slip and route appropriate paperwork to home office.
  • Locate qualified area vendors if necessary to receive materials on an “emergency” basis.

Municipal, Local and State Government Relations:

  • Provide all necessary and/or requested information for any local or state agency requesting information from Neuman Pools, Inc. regarding the project.
  • Obtain any necessary permits to ensure the construction timeline is not interrupted.
  • Tour any officials requesting inspections of the jobsite.

Environmental, Health and Safety Issues:

  • Ensure that all Neuman Pools’ employees and subcontractors strictly follow all regulations and/or policies regarding environmental issues.
  • Conduct periodic safety inspections to ensure all Neuman Pools’ employees and subcontractors are adhering to all OSHA and/or general contractor safety issues.
  • Make on-the-spot corrections of any safety violations that are witnessed.

General Project Management

  • Responsible for overall project budget (along with in-house Project Manager).
  • Provide periodic budgetary progress reports to the President.
  • Maintain all correspondence and project records.
  • Coordinate all aspects of the project with in the in-house Project Manager to maintain good communication with the home office.
